We have all wanted to give ol’ G. double-ya a good kick to the head for quite some time now, but the extremely tight security surrounding the president has always made this feat seem near impossible. But one man, or revolutionary some may say, shot for the moon and landed among the stars.

This innovative thinker managed to find a loop hole in George’s otherwise seemingly flawless security. This man decided he was going to kick George in the head, simply by removing his foot from the shoe first! Genius. Not to mention probably the funniest thing I have ever seen on the news to date.

I wonder what G.W. said to throw that guy into a frenzy… and I also wonder what the penalty for throwing your shoes at the president is… Is that guy going to prison for that? Are there even any laws that could properly assess such a thing?

I’m sure they could manage to find something in the Patriot Act they can torture him for.

So yesterday was the first official snow storm of the year here in Montreal. Which basically means it snowed with a decently heavy fall for about a day and a half non-stop.

WHAT I LEARNED: After such an event, taking above ground public transportation(i.e. bus) sucks.

Walking back from the exam I totally bombed was almost unbearable today, and it’s only downhill from here. The average high temperature in Montreal for January is 21.7 degrees F. Sometimes I think about the winter and wonder why I moved here. It’s colder and I have to walk everywhere.

So my favorite group of all time, The Knife, was asked by Danish Hotel Pro Forma to write the music and libretto for an opera called “Tomorrow, In a Year.” What is the plot and/or the reason for this opera?

“In November 2009, it is precisely 150 years since Charles Darwin published The Origin of Species, a work that describes the biological and geological world, as it has come into existence and continues to do so every single day. Our view of the world has been changed for ever as a result of the theory of evolution. Tomorrow, in a year uses Darwin’s way of observing and describing the world. Change as a process and the interrelationship of all things is the basic material of the performance.”

I have always dreamed of being able to see them live (they don’t tour in North America) but to see them perform with choreographed dancers in elaborate costumes to The Knife’s own ambient-y electronic-y version of an opera with a plot based upon Darwin’s Theory of Evolution?!?! Looks like I’ll have to find a way to be in Copenhagen come next September.
